National Projects Construction Limited (NPCC) was established on 9th January, 1957. Working under the aegis of the Ministry of Water Resources to undertake Irrigation and Hydel Projects, it subsequently diversified in other fields of construction and today it is an ISO 9001-2008 accredited Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) with its registered office at New Delhi and 14 Zonal Offices in the states capital of different states including Delhi also.
At present the Corporation is working at more than 130 project sites spread all over the country. These include IBB Fencing works in Tripura, Mizoram, Assam & Meghalaya, Assam Rifle Works in all states of North East except Sikkim Irrigation & River Valley Projects, Hydroelectric projects, Thermal Projects, Industrial Structure & other miscellaneous projects. It is worth mentioning here that NPCC is working in such remote areas and hazardous conditions that no private company has dared to enter.

During the year 2009-10, the turnover of NPCC was Rs. 1002.92 crores and its net profit was Rs. 31.29 crores. In the year 2010-11 the Corporation achieved a turnover of Rs. 1082 crores and recorded the net profit of Rs. 72.74 crore (including Deferred Tax Revenue of Rs. 40.65). The Corporation has achieved a turnover of Rs. 1203 crores (unaudited) for the year 2011-12).
