·         All irrigation and multipurpose projects in the States of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan (except in  the Indus Basin)

·         Work relating to Contract Management, materials for construction viz. cement, explosives etc.

·         Rashtriya Pariyojna Nirman Nigam Limited (NPCC).

·         Administrative matters relating to Water and Power Consultancy Service India (WAPCOS) Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry.

A. (i) Works related to Ganga Basin

·         Policy and administrative & establishment matters relating to Bansagar Control Board.

·         Policy and administrative & establishment matters relating to Betwa River Board.

·         Policy and administrative & establishment matters relating to Tungabhadra Board.

·         Irrigation and Multipurpose projects of Brahmaputra Basin in the Eastern Region comprising Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, & Sikkim and Ganga Basin in the Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal (Below Haridwar on river Ganga and below Okhla on river Yamuna).

·         The work relating to the Irrigation and Multipurpose Projects of the above mentioned States and Boards include VIP references, PMO/Cabinet Secretariat references, convening of meetings, court cases, ongoing cases relating to administrative and establishment matters of various categories of officials working in the Betwa River Board, Parliamentary matters such as Parliament Questions, matter raised under Rule 377, Special Motions in zero-hour, cut-motions, providing information to Parliamentary Committees.

     (ii) Additional work of PR Division assigned.

·          Dam Safety Legislation.

B.   Works related to NCA/SSCAC

[DS(BM) - Independent charge under Wing head Commissioner (PR) ]

·         Policy and administrative & establishment matter and technical issues relating to SSCAC.

·         Policy and administrative & establishment matter and technical issues relating of NCA.

·         Court cases relating to Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP), Indira Sagar Project, Maheshwar Project and Omkareshwar Project.

·         Follow up action on meetings of NCA, R&R Sub-Group, Environment Sub-Group, etc of NCA and SSCAC.

·         Complaints and petitions received from the Narmada Bachao Andolan for R&R of PAFs of Sardar Sarovar Project and other projects, Fake Registry case and Payment of Special Rehabilitation Package.

·         PMO/Cabinet Secretariat references, application under RTI, Parliament Questions/matters in respect of above mentioned projects.

c)   GANGA BASIN-FARAKKA BARRAGE PROJECT (GB-FBP) SECTION:

·         Bansagar Control Board.(Execution part by CWC) 

·         Betwa River Board (Execution part by CWC)

·         Irrigation and multipurpose  projects of Brahmaputra  and Ganga in the  eastern region comprising - Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, West  Bengal, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh (Below Hardwar on river Ganga and below Okhla on river Yamuna)

·         Special case of advance plan assistance for   particular projects  of  the concerned states i.e.  additional outlay for  Teesta  Barrage Project.

·         Inter-State  aspects  between  Uttar Pradesh  and  Madhya  Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

·         Matters  relating  to  Farakka Barrage Project except work relating to operational issues.

·         Residual work of Sone River Commission.

·         Establishment matters relating to National Water Development Agency.
